1. Good Rochester Restaurants

If you’ve been in the area long enough, you already know to visit fan favorites like Dinosaur BBQ and Sinbad’s. Everyone wants to find those lesser-known gems, but not everyone wants to weed out the bad restaurants from the good. If you want to visit a restaurant that is clear-cut great, check out the Raj Mahal in Henrietta, which specializes in Indian cuisine. Not only does this restaurant have a four star rating on Trip Advisor, but it also has 50% off Rochester coupons on Groupon right now. One fan advises that they have, “the best biryani around.”

2. Zoo Brrrew

This event is fun, though whether it will help you stay warm is perhaps questionable. The Seneca Park Rochester Zoo sponsors a winter Zoo Brrrew that’s happening on Friday, February 7th. This event features live music by the Key Dreamers, a cash bar, and a variety of international-themed hors d’oeuvres. Try everything from chorizo chicken sausage tacos, to kluay kaeg (battered fried bananas). Not to mention, you get to check out animals from all over the world.

3. Saturday City Snowshoe Hikes

Want to learn how to snowshoe, and hike through great outdoor space? Try out one of the Saturday City Snowshoe Hikes, taking place most Saturdays in January and February at the South Avenue Community Center from 1-3pm. Snowshoes allow you to “float” on top of the snow because they distribute weight over a larger area. It’s easy to learn, and fun as well. Even if it’s not snowing, it still can be worth showing up — participants will still get to hike and play games.
